MAYA-NET Mobility As keY for quAlity eNhancement of EU and LA univErsiTies MAYANET is a scholarship programme for students on undergraduate, master, doctoral and post-doctoral level, as well as for university staff in academic or administrative positions, financed by the European Commission. MayaNET aims to contribute in the creation of lasting and reliable relations between EU and LA countries and enhance political, cultural, educational, and economic links between the two regions. It will develop training and scientific exchanges and result in a strong sustainable contribution to the construction of a global knowledge society. The specific objectives are:-to develop higher education teaching and learning capacity through the transfer of know-how and knowledge as well as the exchange of best practices;-to establish strong relations with EU institutions for the future LA university teachers/researchers;-to promote mutual enrichment and intercultural understanding;- To improve the internationalisation of LA Master programmes;-to promote life-long learning and modify the management of higher education institutions with a view to adapting students learning to labour market changes;-to better integrate LA universities within the EHEA and ERA and to harmonise HE curricula in accordance with the Bologna process.
