27/09/2012

From the Guardian Newspaper's Digital Media Agency we have been asked to disseminate this information. At the Guardian Newspaper's Digital Media Agency are involved with a new UK students abroad project with the British Council. The project involves creating a British Council website for UK students who want to study overseas. They are looking for UK students to appear on the site who are studying or have already studied at the University of Granada who can tell a bit about their time away, answer a few questions (pasted below) and email them some images.

Questions to be answer by the student:

Please answer the questions below (leave out any that don't apply - i.e.: receiving Erasmus funding if you weren't on the Erasmus programme.) Please also send a headshot of yourself and any images you have of your time away - out with friends, exploring your new city and experiencing new things.

Name, UK university (leave blank if full degree was abroad), study abroad destination and study abroad institute:

What type of placement were you on? (Undergraduate, post grad, technical placement, work placement?)

Did you have to meet certain entry requirements when applying to study abroad?

What did you enjoy most about working/studying abroad?

Are there any things that you would recommend people to do when abroad? i.e.: travel around, visit a particular place, particular events etc

How did you find accommodation/what accommodation did you have?

How did you find settling in? Did you find the language barrier difficult?

Health - Did you register with a doctor/get medical insurance? Do you think insurance is important?

Did you receive funding from ERASMUS, COMENIUS or any other organisation, if so - were there any problems/was it easy to do/did your home uni help? Did you worry that your qualifications abroad wouldn't be recognised by UK institutions?

Anything else you think is relevant: websites, experiences, Recommendations etc.
