On 19 and 20 March, the School of Architecture (ETSAG) at the University of Granada hosted a monitoring meeting for the Erasmus+ KA 220 HED project titled ‘Inclusivity and Accessibility of Historic Public Spaces’, also known as INCLUSIVE-ACCESS.

The project is being coordinated by Lublin University of Technology (Poland) and involves the following partners: the University of Granada (Spain), Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture (Ukraine), Lviv Polytechnic National University (Ukraine) and the Fondazione Romualdo del Bianco (Italy).

Funded by the European Union with a total budget of €250,000, the project seeks to develop innovative teaching activities related to accessibility and inclusion in historic public spaces.

Members from each university attended the meeting, including the ETSAG lecturers involved in the project: Francisco Abarca, David Arredondo, David Cabrera, Fernando Osuna, Juan Francisco Reinoso and Concepción Rodríguez.

The project's progress was assessed by the various teams, after which a technical visit was conducted to La Carrera del Darro street in Granada and a number of adjacent buildings. Widely considered one of Granada’s most iconic heritage sites, “La Carrera del Darro” is a historic, scenic street that runs parallel to the Darro River at the foot of the Alhambra. These sites have been selected by the local UGR team as the focus of the study. The project began in September 2024 and is scheduled to end in August 2027.

INCLUSIVE-ACCESS is one of 17 cooperation partnerships, funded under Key Action 2 of the Erasmus+ programme, in which the UGR is currently participating.
