On 4 and 5 May 2026, the University of Granada (UGR) will host an international meeting of the European Erasmus+ project FRIDAS – Fundamental Rights in Daily Actions of Social Workers (Ref. 2024-1-IT02-KA220-HED-000251953). This initiative brings together universities and organisations from Albania, Italy, Norway, and Spain.

The meeting will be held at the Faculty of Social Work and the Faculty of Labour Relations and Human Resources, combining open day sessions and an internal working meeting of the international consortium.

During the open sessions, participants will discuss the importance of integrating a human rights approach into social work training and practice. Preliminary project results will also be presented, alongside an exchange of experiences between the partner countries.

A key highlight of the event will be the international roundtable, where each country will present the implementation of the project within its specific context. The UGR team will present a teaching innovation experience based on the creation of podcasts, developed in collaboration with the Official Social Work Association of Granada (COTS Granada). This initiative was implemented through courses on the UGR’s Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, engaging both students and social work professionals.

The programme will also include an institutional opening ceremony, a presentation of the FRIDAS project, and a proposal for a blended intensive programme (BIP), as well as networking opportunities for academic and institutional partners.

The FRIDAS project aims to strengthen social work training by promoting innovative methodologies and international cooperation between higher education institutions through a human rights approach. Funded under the 2024 call of the Erasmus+ programme, FRIDAS is one of 16 cooperation partnership (Erasmus+ KA220) projects in which the UGR is currently participating. The project has a total funding amount of €400,000 and will run for three years.
