International Week to be held between 6th and 10th May 2013 at University of Porto, Portugal

The University of Porto is pleased to announce its INTERNATIONAL WEEK, to be held between 6th and 10th OF May 2013 in Porto (Portugal), directed to administrative staff dealing with international cooperation and exchange programmes.

The programme will comprise a range of issues related to internationalisation through interactive group sessions including in this edition, workshops and short certificated training course among others. With this initiative, University of Porto wish to be opened to all partners and other foreign universities in order to strengthen international cooperation by encouragement the exchange of best practices and experiences.

University of Porto has designed a draft programme with the intention to offer an enriching international and intercultural learning experience and the opportunity to discuss interesting and important topics related to internationalisation.

In order to make more comfortable the organization of the participants' travel to Porto, University of Porto decided to centralize in our office the reservations of accommodation and meals assuring special rates for our guests (through specific protocols with hotels and restaurants in the city).

Therefore, there will be a fee of 500,00 Euros/participant, which will include both work and social programme:

  • Registration in all activities of the International Week;
  • Accommodation for all participants (in a 4 star Hotel in Porto downtown close to the main touristic attractions and also to the Rectorate - 5 min. walking distance) for 6 nights, with check-in on Sunday 5th and check-out on Saturday 11th in a single room with breakfast included;
  • 4 Lunches from Monday 6th to Thursday 9th;
  • Travel card for local public transportation in Porto;
  • Information Kit;
  • Coffee-breaks;
  • Touristic Programme;
  • Cultural Dinner;
  • Certificate of attendance.

Since the number of participants will be limited to 40, University of Porto recommend the interested candidates to fill in the ONLINE APPLICATION FORM as soon as possible, until MARCH 11TH 2013 the latest.

The selection will be made on the basis of interest, background, home institution and home country and the results will be sent to each participant shortly after the application deadline, by March 18th.

Please be aware that University of Porto can allow a maximum 2 (two) representatives from each institution and they will select preferably only one candidate per institution.

The attached programme is only provisional. After the admission the participants will receive the final programme.
