Sustainable Wastewater Treatment for Hospitals / SWaTH is a 3-year project co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union and has a total budget of 999,744.00 Euros. SWaTH is a Capacity-building in the Field of Higher Education project that includes in its partnership 5 higher education institutions from Lebanon namely the University of Balamand (leading institution), the Lebanese University, the Lebanese American University, the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, and the Notre Dame University - Louaize in addition to the University of La Rochelle from France, the University of Granada from Spain, the KTH Royal Institute of Technology from Sweden, the University of Lleida from Spain, the University of Oulu from Finland, and Plasmatrix Materials AB from Sweden.

The motive of the Project is to bring together European Higher Education Institutions and European factories that own and supply cutting-edge developments, extensive international experience, and innovative learning practices and Higher Education Institutions from Partner countries in the Southern Mediterranean – Region 3 (particularly Lebanon) that need and demand the same practices, expertise, and developments.
