Dear colleagues,

we are proud to send to you this first newsletter we are editing for our partner universities in order to inform of the latest calls for proposals, activities and courses published and offered by our university.

We hope this newsletter is of interest to you and will encourage you and your students to apply for the exchange programmes or scholarships offered and participate in the international activities we organise at the UGR.

Online Application - Free Mobility Students

Short Description: We would like to remind you that the online application for Free Mobility Students who want to study at the UGR during the academic year 2010/2011 will close on 9th May.

Online Application - Erasmus Students

Short description: We inform you that the online application for Erasmus Students who want to study at the UGR during the academic year 2010/2011 will be open from 1st until 23rd May.

1st Staff Training Week at the UGR (14 - 18 June 2010)

Short Description: The University of Granada is proud to inform you about its 1st Staff Training Week within the LLP/Erasmus Staff Mobility Programme, to which we would like to invite you as partner Universities of the UGR. The Staff Training Week will take place from 14th to 18th June 2010 and the online application will be open from 12th April until 16th May 2010.

The Staff Training Week is open to all administrative staff members of our partner Universities. It is not necessarily prepared for International Relations Office staff.

Master Programme Erasmus Mundus “CIMET” (Color in Informatics and Media Technology) - Scholarship of 20.000€ for European Students

Short Description: In September 2008, the Erasmus Mundus Master Programme “CIMET” was launched by the European Commission “Eduation & Training” and is taught at four European Universities: the University of Saint-Etienne (France), the University of Eastern Finland (Finland), the University of Granada (Spain) and the University College Gjovik (Norway). The teaching language is English.

The Master CIMET has been given the prestigious label of Erasmus Mundus due to its excellence. It is a two-year course (120 ECTS) which is broadly interdisciplinary, encompassing photonics, computer vision and imaging science, computer science and multimedia technology as a mix of relevant theoretical and practical knowledge.

Students will be awarded a double (or multiple) degree, at postgraduate-level (Msc in Science, 300 ECTS), from the two (or three) degree-granting Universities visited.

  • The deadline for applying for the scholarship for European students is May 9th.

Scholarships - Agreements with Morocco and Eastern European Countries

Short Description: Every year, the UGR anounces full scholarship programmes financed by the University aimed at students attending Spanish high schools located in Morocco and bilingual high schools in Romania, Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia and who will commence graduate studies at the University of Granada.

Summer Courses at the Centro Mediterráneo of the University of Granada

Short Description: The Centro Mediterráneo of the University of Granada offers every year a wide range of Summer courses in which we invite you to participate.

Summer Courses at the Centro de Lenguas Modernas (Language Centre) of the University of Granada

Short Description: Our language centre “Centro de Lenguas Modernas” organises different programmes on Spanish language and culture as well as courses for a wide range of foreign languages.

Intercultural Conferences “Melodies from China. Culture, Economy and Society in China in the XXIst century”

Short description: The Dirección General de Coodinación de Políticas Migratorias de la Consejería de Empleo in collaboration with the Instituto Confucio of the University of Granada and the Colegio de Cultura China de Sevilla, are organising the intercultural conferences “Melodies from China. Culture, Economy and Society in China in the XXIst century” which will take place on 6th and 7th May at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Granada.

MISCELLANEOUS

Undergraduate Courses offered

Short Description: In the academic year 2010/2011, the UGR offers 57 degrees covering all areas (experimental and health sciences, social and legal sciences, technical education and engineering, humanities, etc.), over 35 Summer Courses and 133 Online Distance-Learning Courses.

Postgraduate Studies offered

Short Description: Furthermore, the UGR teaches 67 Official Masters, including: 4 Erasmus Mundus Masters (one taught completely in English), 7 bilingual Official Masters (Spanish-English); 91 Doctoral Programmes, including 17 Co-operative Doctoral Studies and more than 170 UGR Masters, Postgraduate and Short Courses.

UGR Fact Sheet

Short Description: IAt the moment, the International Relations Office of the UGR supplies information through their fact sheet for the academic course 2009/2010. The new fact sheet for the academic year 2010/2011 will be published soon.

UGR Channel

Short Description: Daily, the UGR Channel publishes news with updated information about scholarships, calls for proposals and activities of the UGR. Moreover, the Science News is published both in English and French.
