The University of Graz is delighted to inform you that the Call for Applications for the Graz International Summer School Seggau 2013 - Collective Identities: Nationalism, Transnationalism – Europe and Beyond is now open.

Focusing on the emphasis areas of the University of Graz – South Eastern Europe and North, Central and South America – this year’s summer school will take place from June 30th to July 13th, 2013 at Seggau Castle in the South-Eastern corner of Austria in the wine region very close to the Slovene border. Emphasizing the aspects of identity/identities, interdisciplinary morning lectures will provide the context for the ten specialized seminar workshops in the afternoon. The discursive and symbolic constructions of Europe and the Americas will be investigated from the fields of law, economics, environmental studies, political science, sociology, media studies, theology, literature and culture, aging studies, and indigenous studies, as well as from global, migration and Jewish studies.
