NHH will also this year host our annual Graduate Summer School for MBA and MSc students from our partner institutions around the world. Students on advanced BSc level, who have completed at least three years of undergraduate education within a relevant academic field, will also be considered for admission.
Norway is abundantly endowed with natural resources and the utilization of its resource base has strongly influenced the industrial structure, foreign trade, economic development and welfare of the country. The country has not suffered many of the curses that plague other resource-rich countries, such as corruption or the “Dutch disease”. Norway has consistently been ranked by the UN as the best country in the world to live in, and the World Economic Forum has ranked Norway as one of the top 20 most competitive countries globally.
The summer course will undertake an economic analysis and evaluation of the resource management and policy regimes developed by a natural resource-rich country like Norway. Students from around the world will be brought together to find out more about how the world's third largest oil exporter avoided the resource curse.
Cooperation with the business community - excursions. The summer school will be delivered by NHH faculty along with guest lecturers from other academic institutions and the business community. The programme has been developed and organised in partnership with a range of companies active in the industries examined in the course, and company visits and case studies form a major part of the course schedule.
The NHH Graduate Summer School has been evaluated by former students taking the course, and this feedback has all over been very positive.
