The Winter School is organised by the Department of Developmental Psychology and Socialisation in cooperation with the Language Centre and the International Relations Office at the University of Padova.

The 5 -day programme aims to provide Higher Education lecturers and professors with the opportunity to experience a professional development programme concerning the major issues and challenges involved in teaching academic subjects in English. Leading national and international experts will illustrate the latest research on both theoretical and methodological aspects related to Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) and English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI), with a special emphasis on intercultural communication. During practical sessions, participants will have the opportunity to acquire innovative strategies for teaching their subjects in multicultural academic environments.

Specific topics include integrating language and content in Higher education; dealing with international students; learning resources, visual literacy and learning in a foreign language; pedagogical considerations and support strategies for teaching in a foreign language.
