UGR cultural events
Thanks to its rich historical and cultural heritage, and to the presence of a proactive university community, the University of Granada has firmly established itself as a vibrant cultural hub. You can view the upcoming cultural events at the UGR, including concerts, film screenings, theatre productions, exhibitions and conferences by using our UGR Cultural Events Calendar. These events are open to all members of the UGR community and the general public. Moreover, they are free of charge.
“Casa de Porras” University Cultural Centre
The “Casa de Porras” University Cultural Centre runs over 50 recreational and vocational courses in the areas of the literary and performing arts, graphic arts, crafts, lifestyle, and physical and mental well-being. These courses are open to both members of the University community and the general public. The Centre also offers you the opportunity to display your artwork free of charge, set up courses and workshops, and hold seminars and exhibitions. If you would like to set up a new course, or exhibit your artwork free of charge, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the Centre.
“La Madraza” Centre for Contemporary Culture
“La Madraza” Centre for Contemporary Culture, located in the historic centre of the city, is at the heart of cultural activities in Granada. This UGR Centre is housed in the magnificent “Madraza” Palace, which dates back to the 14th century and is now a recognised Cultural Heritage Site (BIC). The Centre organises an extensive range of activities in the areas of art, music, the performing arts and cinematography. All of these activities are free of charge and are open to the university community and to the general public.
University Film Club
The University Film Club (Cine Club Universitario) gives you the opportunity to explore the history of film, understand the evolution of cinematic language, and enhance your knowledge of film-making and cinematography. The Club runs a unique series of thematic film screenings every month and delivers cinematography courses. These activities are open to both members of the university community and the public.
