The Erasmus Mundus GEMMA international master's degree, coordinated by the Women's and Gender
Studies Institute of the University of Granada and which has been offered since the 2007/2008 academic year,
opens the application period for participation in its 20th edition (2026-2028).

In view of the warnings issued by the Spanish Meteorological Agency, the University of Granada's Governing Team has implemented a series of preventive measures, as a result of which, the start of the second semester at the UGR has been rescheduled for 18 February.
The kick-off meeting of the Erasmus+ CBHE project MED.HELA (Mediterranean Higher Education Leadership Academy) took place in Tlemcen, Algeria, on 20–21 January 2026. The event was hosted by the project coordinator, the University of Tlemcen, and was attended by representatives from the Algerian and Tunisian Ministries of Higher Education, as well as the Director of the Erasmus+ Office in Algeria.

The Study in Spain Fair, organised by the Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education (SEPIE), is currently taking place from 19 to 22 January in Morocco. The event is supported by the Department of Education of the Spanish Embassy in Morocco.

The Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education (SEPIE) has recognised the quality of the University of Granada’s Erasmus+ mobility project.
The UGR is participating in the project through its Department of English and German Philology and Department of Didactics of Language and Literature.
Once again, the Irish Studies Circle at the University of Granada will host its intensive International Seminar on Irish Studies from 26 to 30 January 2026. This ninth edition will continue to celebrate the richness of Irish culture: its literature, music, film and history, brought to life by exceptional Irish voices and artists.
The seminar will feature literary readings by poet Gerry Murphy and writers Mary O'Donnell and Katherine O'Donnell. We will also be joined by keynote speakers of great renown in the Irish academic field.
