The University of Granada (UGR) took part in the 36th Annual Conference and Exhibition of the European Association for International Education (EAIE), held at the Scottish Event Campus in Glasgow, Scotland, in early September. Under the theme ‘The Rhythm of Revolution’, the event brought together more than 7,300 international education professionals from over 100 countries, further consolidating its position as the sector’s leading forum in Europe and one of the foremost worldwide.

UGR hosts international AIDA4teachers meeting to advance AI-supported teacher professional development in Europe.

The Resource Production Centre for the Digital University (CEPRUD) brings together experts from five countries to review and validate the tools developed by the European AIDA4teachers project, which are designed to transform the continuing professional development of teachers.

The University of Granada has achieved its best ever result in the ranking, with eight of its degree programmes ranked among the top five in Spain in their respective subject areas.

The University of Granada was recently visited by a delegation from V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University in Ukraine. The representatives from the Ukrainian university were led by the Dean of its School of Foreign Languages, Svitlana Virotchenko, and the Head of its Mykola Lukash Translation Studies Department, Oleksandr Rebrii.

From 11 to 15 May, the UGR's Vice-Rectorate for Internationalization will run training activities for staff from partner universities under Erasmus+ Key Actions 131 and 171, co-funded by the European Union.

A delegation from the University of Granada has made an official visit to Moldova with the aim of strengthening academic, scientific and institutional cooperation with Moldovan universities and expanding internationalization opportunities for both students and academic staff.

The UGR has risen to 189th place in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI), climbing 25 spots compared to last year and securing its position as Spain’s most innovative university.

The University of Granada (UGR) has played a prominent role in the 2026 Spanish Universities Road Show in Brazil, a strategic initiative aimed at attracting talent and promoting the internationalization of the higher education system. The event was held between 25 and 29 April 2026.

The University of Granada marked Europe Day with an official ceremony on Friday 8 May at the ‘Hospital Real’ Building (seat of the UGR Rectorate).
As part of the Europe Day celebrations, the ‘Hospital Real’ also hosted the opening of the travelling exhibition ‘Andalucía, 40 años creciendo en Europa: del tratado a la transformación’ (Andalusia, 40 Years of Growth in Europe: From Treaty to Transformation).
